Dubai Airport

What an experience Dubai Airport is. First, it is grand. The central arcade goes on and on.
We only had a little time in transit and most of that was walking the long passages to finally arrive at gate 40. There are messages everywhere stating you must board no later than 15 minutes before the flight.
We arrived at the gate with plenty of time to spare until I had to present my passport. Any 1 of the 2 would have been fine, but I couldn't find either.
After pulling everything out of my backpack, I found them - right down the bottom of the bag. So in the end, I didn't have to wait long in the lounge.
They called our zone to board and we all started walking down another passage. Now remember, it was 34 degrees at 5:30. Well, it is not 7:30 and hotter.
You walk down the passage into a waiting bus, and wait. Ok, air-conditioning is running, but it is still hot.
After waiting for 10 minutes, sweating in jeans and carrying a fleece jacket, the bus starts moving.
We pass a number of planes parked close by and keep moving. We travel under the exit passage way we disembarked on, and keep going. 10, 15 even 20 planes are passed and we find ourselves passing the cargo planes.
Where are they taking us?
After a 10 minute bus trip, winding our way all over the airport, we stop next to the second last plane on the lot.
And what do we do when we get there? Walk to the plane and up the stairs. One of the hottest places on Earth and you walk out in jeans, through the haze and onto the plane.
At least the plane is cool!
Had to wait for transit passengers to arrive, so we are about 20-30 mins late. Found out the front facing and ground facing cameras are working on this plane. Really cool watching the plane take off.
